Work Package 4: DROUGHT RISK ASSESSMENT

A common methodology for drought assessment (based on available meteorological data and climatologic archives) was developed and adopted. The impacts were analyzed from the historical records. The drought risk and drought vulnerability maps were developed for the region using GIS techniques. Knowing vulnerability and risk, DMCSEE are more able to advice on improved drought management and policy.

  • Common methodology for drought assessment,
  • risk and drought vulnerability maps,
  • vulnerability was categorized and visualized in relative scale to provide decision makers with essential basis for drought management policy options,
  • general usability of results.
